Hello @JPaul21

The stirrups in that example are created using Aligned Distribution Free Form Rebar

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VPukEg2sv4Y

(available since 2019.1).

You can also use shape driven rebar and set it as varying, if the faces are planar (not warped) or cylindrical.

By default aligned ffr bars are perpendicular to the distribution path. There is also an option to make them parallel to an element face (see below)

See the attachment for some simple examples of this

Yes, I tried the aligned free form rebar but It's not the exact outcome I want. The stirrups is not horizontally align unlike on the picture I've attached. Please see the attached photo.Capture.PNG

By default, all the bars in an aligned distribution set are perpendicular to the distribution path (the edge that you select during placement).

To get them parallel to the ground, you need to

  • Select the set
  • Click Edit Constraints
  • Select the Align / Close bar handle
  • Click a planar face. The bars in the set will be parallel to that face.

See the set in my example and the picture from my previous reply (the one showing one bar in the twisted column and the align / close handle selected) or check out the example below, from the help section:

Also, when using free form rebar, you can also extract segment lengths by matching the free form bar geometry to Revit rebar shapes. To do this you need to select the set and change the Workshop Instructions to Bend.

Hi Ovidiu, can you do a quick video demonstrating this in detail. I have watched your tips and tricks, but I still don't understand on how you achieve the outcome.
