How to move structural beams vertically

Hello All,

I use structural components frequently to model my wood frame projects. I almost exclusively us the dimension lumber family provided by Revit for this task.

The issue I am having is that sometimes I cannot adjust structural beams vertically using the typical tools (move, align, copy, etc). I can adjust the height using the start and end level offsets, but that is incredibly time consuming.

One work around that I have found is that entering a number into the start and end level offsets sometimes "unlocks" the beam elements and lets me move, align, or copy vertically as needed, but this doesn't work every time.

Is there a way to reliably unlock the vertical movement constraints on structural beams?

Untick Constrain and tick Disjoin from the Option bar when moving the beam.
