How to install Rectangular hollow section horizontally

Hi I am new to Revit,

I am trying to Load a RHS (Rectangular hollow section) as a horizontal strut. This 'family' component is not being  accepted into the 'Structural Beams' category only as a 'structural column' which cant be inserted horizontally into the model. Any Ideas?

You should be loading a structural framing family not a structural column family.

I've never had an issue with a structural framing family refusing to not be vertical so I assume that is the issue.
