How to create parametric tensile canopy expand development in revit
These are not the easiest things to create. Double curved objects are not the strong point of Revit. However shapes like this can be done in a normal Revit family. Here a concept:
To create the fabric you can do this.
First create a partial donut. Then cut out a square/diamond shaped object from the donut. The (partial) donut can be made from sweeping a arc (half circle) around a circular path.
You could control the sweep (donut form) by controlling the diameter of the arc (path) and the diameter of the sweeped object. In a similar way you can control the size and shape of the void form.
Other route would be to use the massing tools.
