You can use a break line family for that. You can create one yourself or load one from the Autodesk library.
In the US metric library there is one under \Detail Items\Div 01-General.
Basically it is a detail item (view dependent) with a masking region
Louis
Please mention Revit version, especially when uploading Revit files.
When trying to load the break line symbol I got an error message. Under the Annotate tab, I selected 'Symbol' and then browsed to Detail Items\Div 01-General. Attached is the error message I received. I have a floor plan that is very large and want to show it cut on the sheet. I tried cropping my view and that works but not ideal visually on the sheet. Do I have to un-crop my view and then add the break line symbol? You mentioned it having masking abilities, thats why I am asking. Also, will I be able to create other views with other parts of the same plan without the break line symbol and masking? Thanks in advance.
I figured it out. To load Family: Go to 'Insert' tab and then click 'Load Family'. To use the break line: Go to 'Annotate' tab and then click the 'Component' drop down, choose the 'Detail Component' option.

thank you so much every one
The break line symbol comes under the Detail items category. Please go to visibility setting, select the model category and you have to check the detail items box then click ok, so that you can see the break-line symbol in the view.
oooo, thank you for the detail cut line info, I found one in the same area for imperial, yay!
