Hatch pattern missing in Revit 2024

Hi everyone,

my wall patterns seem to be lost when upgrading my template te Revit 2024.

I'm in structural discipline and my walls are 100% transparant with a brickwork hatch pattern.

In 2023 and before this was all correct but now in 2024 they seem to be missing.

View filter settings:

Same settings in Revit 2023 shows like it should be:

Only when I turn off my transparancy it gets fixed, but then I can't see my beams anymore obviously.

Any reason why this was changed?

This is obviously just a visual bug, this does not stop us from working in newer software.

All I ask is a fix, not a view on how our firm should work things out.

Software management is important and having a good strategy can help avoid having issue like this. Sure...it's just a visual bug, but it will probably take many weeks for autodesk to address.

Same goes for every business doesn't it?

Unfortunately we can't tell our clients to wait for structural design plans and make them wait a couple more weeks for them to be finished, can we? 😉

But hey, thank god we now have a dark theme for schedules...

Hi,

I came across your error and found the underlying issue.... at least for my graphical error (in my case, hatches weren't showing on print either).

All walls with unconnected heights under 2m are shown without interior hatches.

The solution was to link them to above plane and reach the unconnected height through enough negative top offset.

Hope this helps.

Walls under 2m are always shown without a hatch.

in my case my walls are not below 2m because they touch the ceiling.

I always give them top reference the level above minus the floor thickness.

Try set your discipline to "structural" and see if any wall with a hatch touching the ceiling still has a hatch pattern when u give the 100% transparency?

A known issue that has a common link been identified by Autodesk as something that needs addressing !

I have the same problem, on screen the wall hatches do not appear, but when plotted they do appear.
is there a fix yet? I have to keep switching from structural discipline to arch discipline to view wall hatching.
frustrating doing this all day.

Display Issues in Structural discipline views with transparent floors and walls in Revit 2024 (autod...

i can only suggest you keep installing all the latest updates for your version when the come available.

I can't understand why this isn't fixed yet, this should be a priority to fix, instead of wasting time on minor updates like "schedules can now be viewed in dark theme". No one is waiting for that. Seriously, I have to work in a structural environment where all my walls are blank and I can't see what walls are above and which are on the current work level.

This is how my workflow looks like:

While this should be something like this:

semi_1-1705915871026.png

And switching back and forth to coordination disc or architural makes my above lying walls disappear.

And another thing I've been asking for years: ALLOW transparency on solid hatches in Structural Discipline please! Because the least transparency (ex: 20%) makes the hatches go away as well.

This is just sad.

revit 2025 is out and they still have not fixed R2024. they should be fixing the problem before releasing a new version.

Sad, but they did fix it in R2025. Which seems very peculiar.
