Grouping Structural Elements

I built a frame at a column location which will occur at the majority of my column locations.  I would like to group this frame system and copy or array it so that when I have to make changes to the frame all of the frames will change automatically.  However when I select all of the elements for the fgroup and select the group command I get the following error.  "A structural element will be detached from grid(s) due to inconsistent group membership."  how do I remedy this problem?  We are in the beginning stages of the project so we are using preliminary column, beam and bracing sizes and I would like to be able to change them all at once as the project design progresses.

That is not an issue. It will be detached from the grid if it is supposed to be independed group. Just make sure if you modeled the frame with the help of reference planes to adjust these only to the frame (so that you dont end up with a jungle of ref planes) and include them in the group.

Btm note: when it comes to groups revit really sucks so you still might get some issues and headaches when you edit the group and revit will be like "nope, I dont like it, I will make it a new group, and distort all the other ones" 🙂
