Exporting to 3D DWG with layer modifiers, maybe

I've got a client who would for me to export my Revit model to a 3D DWG with one request I've never come across, until now.

They would like to have each member show up as a layer in AutoCAD. This way, then they use it to model in their piping, they can better manage what steel members go with what phase of the installation.

Right now, I have broken down my model into what they are calling models. Within each module, I have assigned a family for beams as well as columns.

Is there a way to export this by using layer modifiers?

I've attached the Revit model for reference.

I did but the results are not what the client was looking for. So, instead, I just exported the model(s) as 3D DWGs and in AutoCAD assigned the appreciate layers. An extra few steps but not that bad.

Thanks!
