Hello @Anonymous

Currently for round columns (or piles) rebar can only be constrained to the top / bottom faces.

To add the main reinforcement you can use a polar array.

More info here:

https://knowledge.autodesk.com/search-result/caas/screencast/Main/Details/e9bb11d1-ccf0-470e-9727-ca94816a4591.html

If the section changes, you need to manually edit the reinforcement.

Can you upload a sample file with this behavior?

What happens here is that when changing the foundation type to D400, the faces of the foundation get different IDs.

The rebar fails to react correctly due to this change of ID (as this is the way the bars know which face to follow) and manual editing is required.

I've noticed that using a pile foundation family in the Revit library doesn't show this behavior (e.g. M_Pile Cap-4 Pile.rfa)

Maybe a workaround would be to start with this family and customize to get the desired shape.
