Edge Distance for Circles?

Hi,

New to Revit so just getting started. What I am trying to create is a familiy with a rectangular pile cap with circular piles that maintain a given edge distance. I can create the same effect with square piles, but when I use circles the align command doesn't pick the edge of the circle as it would for the square.

Is there a way to do this for circle or do I just have to use the circle centre point rather than the edge?

Cheers

Hi,

Select the circle, and turn on the center point in the properties. Now you have two options:
1- Either you add a parameter from the center of the circle and that's it.
2- Add the previous parameter. Use another parameter with a formula to maintain the edge distance based on the previous parameter.

Sounds difficult but give it a shot and you'll learn more by doing it yourself.

With the circle centre point on I can now pick the edge but I still keep getting an error message Constraints are not satisfied?

(I've added the parameters for the width and length of the concrete block, and their fine.)
