How do you make a detail of a structural connection i Revit?

I have managed to get a structural connection to work with a beam and a column. I can tag the structural connection, but not its contents. I would like to tag the bolt, plates, welds and all the other nice stuff you can automate with this feature. but how? I haven't managed to find any examples or tags for the purpose.

If the bolts, plates, etc. are nested families with parametric data, you should be able to schedule it out.  What category is the connection (structural stiffeners?)...try doing a schedule for that category.

Can you upload the revit file?

The  structural connection is a native Revit familie, from the Connection tab under Structure.

structural connection1.PNG

downloaded from the Subscriptions page. (Steel Connections for Autodesk® Revit® 2017 64-Bit )

it isnt possible to tab your way in to the seperate parts of the familie, cant edit familie, cant make a schedule that tells me more than

I can modify Parameters, but that dosnt give me any options on adding tags.

Help isnt much help (http://help.autodesk.com/view/RVT/2017/ENU/?guid=GUID-14D5F295-680A-440B-848C-847363BA0D06)

Looking at this connection family, you are correct.

I cannot Edit the Family

I cannot break the family

I cannot pull instance or type parameter information out of it...only type name and family name

I can create a Structural Connection Tag via the Generic Tag set to Structural Connection Tag Category

I can add Labels within the family tag but it doesn't pull the valuable data I want from the connection family

I will research into this more when I have time...I want to be able to extract all the BIM data of the connection families for quantification/scheduling

the workflow would just be a little better if we could keep all the drawings in one program.

When all the plan drawings, details, diagrams and drawing list is from one program, we eliminate mistakes and save time.

So far either you have to do it manually or use Advance Steel.
Keep in mind that this is a first version of this extension and not all required functionalities for detailing process are implemented yet comparing to Advance Steel.
