Detail Item Threaded Rod Array No Dropdown for parameter

I am trying to make a detail item that is a threaded rod with varying length, diameter, and thread size. I have a single thread family with the diameter and thread width constraints that works fine. (see below).

My goal was to nest that family into another one that is an array of them. (like this.) I know how to nest the parameters and that is working.

My problem is that when I try to make the integer number of the array into a parameter, it doesn't give me the option to do so. There is no dropdown. The only thing different here from what I've done before is that it's a detail item. Is that making a difference?

I can't even make the number of an array parametric with a simple circle I drew in the family as a test, nor with a line.  What do I need to change?

I figured it out.

The dropdown was showing up somewhere else. Like maybe behind a different program on my other monitor. Something I did finally changed it so that it caught my eye up there in the left corner. This wandering dropdown bug that Revit has cost me hours of scratching my head! Revit developers, please keep the dropdown menu near the button. Thanks!
