Custom structural connections orientation

I am having trouble consistently orienting custom connections.

There seems to be a relation between the direction of the L-profile beam when I draw it and the connection order (primary,2,3).

But I tried to break a default connectoin with only two members (remove bolts) and make it custom and it still flips this time depending on which side of the pitched roof I am setting the connections. Maybe it has something to do with the reference planes that I am using to guide the beams and purlins of the roof?

Is this expected behaviour. The default connections work very well in different combinations of members and reference planes. The custom connections apparently are not that flexible.

Thanks!

I have similar issue I think it depends on where on the member it is once you get past mid point it feels as if it always changes side, Hope this get fixed with an option to change sides without having to make a left and right option of the same connection.
