Create soil profile in Revit

Hi all!

I'm working in a project where we have information about the soild based on some boreholes wich have been done on site. I would like to represent the soil layers from the geotechnical report information. 

Is it possible on Revit ? 

I would like to do womething like this.

Hi there,

using only revit I think it will take you a couple of days, maybe weeks, to do that.

Depending on how you have those boreholes you can create an excel file with a couple of key columns (x,y, and levels at which you have the change in layering)

after that using civil 3D you can create multiple surfaces represent the top of each layer.

using those surfaces you can create toposurfaces in revit.

It will take a while but it the only thing I can think about right now.

To draw the soil layer from the borehole information it's secondary for me . The problem I would like to solve is to have some terrain layers in the same project, like in the img I posted yesterday. 

¿Someone knows how to do that?

the final step of my explanation was the creation of those layers. but in order to create the layers you need to make some 'preparing steps'.

If you just want to create the surfaces use Massing&Site > Toposurface > Place Point. 

But it will take an eternity to enter manually all the elevations.

My question is the next :

¿It's possible to have i.e. 2 or 3  soil layers in the same project? 

When I'm setting a point , how does Revit knows in wich toposurface is?

in the same project you can have as many surfaces as you like. 

they will not be layers of anything. You can not have a topography with multiple layer. so for each layer you have to create a unique topography.

I did same in a project, you want to create multiple soil layers in one topo surface, I think it is not possible, I did it like I place all individual layers on one point but level was different and they were all cad links.

I did same a few month ago. You can use graded region tool and phasing. If you want to get cut and fill levels do not split any of the surfaces as it will not work.

And how Revit can know the difference between each toposurface? All them
have the same name…

I think this will not make soil layers in one topo, they will be separate and how will you control bottom of every soil layer.
