Hi

When I want to copy some floors from my revit file to another project I have some problems. I link project then copy/monitor tab.

1-All Columns and Floors Walls change family type.

2-Structural Foundation Slab convert to generic floor with false thickness.

You need to change there default settings in the Copy/Monitor Options prior to copy monitoring.

Interesting..... Do you have the desired Slab families created in your model? If there not in your model its your not going have the option to set it in the options.

in this example the slab im trying to Copy Monitor is a 6" Foundation slab, but i only have a 4" in my current model.

Can you send a screen capture or two of your settings when your setting the Copy/Monitor Options?

sorry, I was looking at the wrong category....

When copy/monitoring, Revit will allow you to select a Foundation Slab, but the only Tab options provided are for Floor (not slabs).

So for some reason Revit identifies a Foundation Slab as a Floor, So it is only showing you "Floor" Options, not actual Structural Foundation Options.

Is there any way that automatically find new type base on original type? My families in both files are similar.Capture.JPG

In some cases there is an option at the top of the item list to "Use Existing type".  if that's not there though, you have to set it manually.
