Coordination model color

We like using the coordination model from Navisworks, but can we change the color of it in Revit?

We'd like to be able to change it to grayscale or at least black. It's currently coming in with all the colors as it looks in AutoCAD and Navisworks.

Do we have to go all the way back to the AutoCAD model to change it's color?

You will need to create central file to Create Multiple Worksets..

put the cooridination model in corresponding workset name

Main File : Create a filter pick elemets from workset and colour them

I have attached sample file

Workset 1 : has Workset named "1" and all elements are in that workset.

Workset 2 : has Workset named "2" and all elements are in that workset.

Similarly for third file with workset "3"

Main File : 3D View: Filter : Create three filters picking elements and give those

filters some colours ...

For Filter "1" I did " Halftone" and " Red"

You can change it to black the way you require..any colour for that matter..

An easier way to change the color is to open up the coordination model in Navisworks, override the items to the preferred color, save as an NWD, then reload in Revit. This method has worked for me.

I'm having a similar issue. I don't have access to source data for the electrical model in my project. I'm provided an NWC. I can insert it into my project, but all the content is white, with no outlines. I like using a white background, so you can imagine this makes it hard to use. I'm not sure why coordination models are so weird. Seems like they should be linked just like DWGs or PDFs can be. And if you are giving them their own category (Coordination Model) make it an annotation category and give us override options, even if we lose color distinctions within the model, it's still better than nothing. But better yet, the NWCs can and often do have intelligence associated with the geometry,  they're even native Autodesk. Revit should be able to read at least the Revit information embedded in an NWC.

We've resorted to creating Revit Families from the Navisworks file if it's not too big. If it's big, you have to do it in portions. It's a multistep process though...

Navisworks Export to FBX.

FBX import into 3DSMAX.

Export from 3DSMAX to DWG. You may want to open it in AutoCAD to move it to an appropriate insertion point.

Import the DWG into Revit Family using a Generic Model template and turning lines black.

Load family into Revit.

Thanks for the contribution, but these are Revit files with revit elements inside, so it doesn't address our issue with Navisworks files (nwd) linked as Coordination Models.

I tried this solution with a nwd model placed in the "workset 1.rvt" file, but it doesn't work since the coordination model doesn't come along with the link in the main file.

I also tried linking the nwd directly in the main file in a workset, but it still doesn't work since there is no category of elements corresponding to Coordination Models to be selected in the filter settings.

(Note: please detach each files from your central files next time you share collaboration projects)
