Connection problem between slab edge and pile cap

Hi everyone.

I am doing a foundation on Revit LT.

My ground  RC slab is b=300mm and I have a slab edge as shown in the section.

Also, I have some  pile-caps and as pointed at the plan with red pen, the slab edge doesn't connect with them correctly.

The edge slab has been produced by 'profile' tool and the pile-cap is a family.

Any ideas how that can be fixed?

Thank you in advance.

Are they the exact same material?

Have you tried the Join Geometry tool?

Can you share your model?

Is it related to the Profile itself as the Slab typically continues to the edge and the Profile is and the Profile is the additional element, so try the profile just with the additional volume and the slab continues to the edge

as @alan.johnson7YLND All materials are the Same and the Floor Slab Edge has been Joined (Modify Tab > Geometry Panel) to the Slab.

Below i have Joined the slab Edge and the Pile Caps (you can also switch Join Order from the Same Tool - Drop down)

if both material and alignment is correct then both would join together as shown in the above solutions.

Correct, on plan view you will always have this discrepancy. Especially when your thickness between the two are different. You will also see that manipulating VG on plan view will not help at all.

We found a quicker solution to this, but it all depends on what your department is responsible for , means/methods, etc.

I do have a few questions for you, but before that, I will share what we do on our end as a structural firm.

-Slab on grade is model by the Architectural client, we do not.

-We do not run concrete volume estimates for GC, we do not model.

-Thickened edge is taken care of by using a 2D typical detail/section.

-On plan we show slab edge lines and thickened edge hidden lines as a group model lines (or drafting lines)

This minimizes our time and R&D and troubleshooting on items that does not fit our scope. and Construction Documents get turned in on time., Editing is a breezeway, zero 3D errors, etc.

The most important Structural elements to be precise are those pile cap locations/orientations.

Best wishes
