Columns are not moving with grids

Iam using Revit 2016, on plan view I have grid line with many columns on it and I need to move this grid with a distance including the columns, when I do this some of the columns move, but the other no. I checked all the columns constraints, they are all located on grids and "move with grids" option is marked for all of them. so please advise what should be done to fix this issue ..

Hello adamofirst,

It is difficult to say what's your issue without a project. Which value has the parameter "Column Location Mark"? Can you read just the grid names or something else? May be you can upload your project for further investigation.

The column location mark for each column is assigned with each grid intersection name, as following:

In that case please purge unused elements of your project and upload it here for further investigation.

The columns will react to the grid but it will depend on if the grid is moved out of the column bounding box or not. Try moving the grid different amounts and you'll see the differences.

I've tried moving the grid with distance ranging from 100mm to 1000mm with the same results, some of the columns move but the other no, and in a different grid, the grid moved but the columns stay in place.

If there is a way to manipulate with this bounding box option, please clarify

Thanks ..

Hi!

Something similar happends to me, try to open a 3D view and show the grids, click on then and you will see how big are the grids, sometimes the graphical representation of grids in plans are biger than the grids itselfs.. and if there if no intersection between grids the columns are not constrain.. You should check aswell the height of grids...

I hope it works for you
