Cannot create project parameter in truss types

Hey everyone.  I don't do much (if any at all) structural work, so bear with me.  I am trying to create some custom parameters and assign them at the Type level of some truss families.  This does not seem possible.  I add them, but they don't show up when I edit the Type Properties in the project model.

If I add Type parameters inside the Family Editor, I can use them.

Is this just how it is?  I can't seem to find anything else online pointing me to a definitive answer.

it should be a type parameter so that you can use them in the type proprieties.

You will see the custom parameter in "Type Properties" dialog after reloading the edited family.

Hi, I've got same problem on Revit 2019.
I can assign project parameter to structural frame family,

but I cannot assign project parameter  to structural truss family.
