Can´t put spot elevation on the top of the building

Hello, 

I´ve modeled a house with flat roof. It has parapet walls on its top. I can´t put elevation value neither on the roof slab nor on the top of the parapet walls. What is the solution?

Is this a Section View or Elevation View?

Do you have a message in the Status Bar in the Bottom Left of the Screen with any instructional information on why this wont happen?

Simple Building > South Elevation > Annotation Tab > Spot Elevation

It is floor plan that I was talking about. Here is a photograph of the situation (prt sc was not suitable because it would not show the sign circled in red).

Are you trying to pick the Face of the slab?

"Select by face" is a setting under the Modify > Select .

It's also on the status bar on the far right, bottom.  Most things in Revit are selected by an edge but if you are trying to select something like a floor, which is usually under a wall, it is quite problematic.  So turn on select by face and it will select the wall face instead of having to TAB key select at the edge.

Yes, I am trying to pick the floor face. I activated select by face setting, but nothing changed - I still can´t put elevation on the top of the floor (in floor plan view), even though I did it normally on levels below. Just the last level (rooftop) is problematic.

Try this first

Revit Spot Elevations cannot find the Floor/ Toposolid

Then i can only think then this is related to the Cut Planes and possibly the point you need to pick are outside this?

Other than looking at the model directly if you share?

Oh yes, cut plane is restricting me to pick elevation that I need. Thank you for the support.
