can't change column type

I want to change my column from UB305*165*40, but I cant change it. there are beam types available. When I select my desired profile and click "OK", there is an error" THE FAMILY IS NOT OF CORRECT CATEGORY".It is educational version and I don't know what to do. Please Help.

Hello!Did you try to load the column families into Revit ? You can find them at: C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\Libraries\US Metric\Columns

Please let me know if this worked!

Load family, browse to structural columns, pick the family, select the sizes from the table and load in project. Then you can change the column to a new type.

because you are editing beam ,

go to column you want to edit it and load it from column category , 

this usually happens when categories do not matches each other
