Can Revit 2021 import ifc file with large coordinate?

Hi.

I am trying to insert ifc file with coordinates larger than 0.4 billion. And revit stops importing it as soon as importing begins.

After changing coordinates to smaller value, then it successfully import and insert ifc object to project.

My question is, is there a limitation in coordinate value when importing/inserting ifc file to Revit 2021?

There's always the limit of 20 miles on the maximum distance from internal origin, see here. I don't have much experience with ifcs in world coordinates, but it may be a problem if your file doesn't have the site information that Revit needs to position it correctly, i.e. only contains the origin of WCS and no project origin. If it wasn't exported from Revit, it may well be the case. Still strange though, that it doesn't automatically resort to insertion via "center to center", and instead just imports nothing. Is there any error message?

Given the magnitude, I assume that your ifc file is in millimeters. I have actually never worked with an ifc file that wasn't in meters. If it's analogous to dwgs, then the limit is 1 billion, so this shouldn't be a problem. Still, I'd try and get the source data in meters if it's not too hard.

I think you are right, maybe it is because of 20 miles limitation. It imports perfectly when its moved to smaller coordinates.(ex 0, 0, 0). 

And there is no any error message even it imports nothing.
