Can a Nested Structural Column family snap to reference levels?

Is there any way to get a family nested into a structural column to act like a structural column and constrain between levels within the project environment? I have a stud/post family that I have nested into a structural column family to allow me to create an arrayed stud pack. I have experimented with generic model and structural column categories as the base stud family but it doesn't seem like these parameters translate through the files. The base and top offset also seem to be broken.

In the meantime, I have added a stud height parameter that allows me to set the overall height of the studs but our modelling team has asked if the family can operate more like the OOTB structural columns. I am open to setting up the family differently, I just need to be able to retain the ability to select the stud size and increase the array count. I have the time to rebuild the family if needed. I've uploaded the version where the stud family is a generic model.

Just editing the Level in your family calls the following error

Nesting Structural Families within other Families is often problematic but adding Groups within Families make this even more so.

I think this is a little too complex, if you are really looking into Stud System you may be better suited looking at Addin for Timber Framing which have predefined dialogues which could do all this for you?
