Steel connection in Revit allows you to model the structural steel connections.

From you photo I understand that you want to create labels on the bolts from connections. In Revit 2018 is not possible to label the parts of a connection.

You may use the Advance Steel extension for Revit addin and continue the workflow in Advance Steel.

(@A_Maq - Advance Concrete is used only for concrete)

If I will use advance steel software to add labels and make some touches..then the Revit is useless.

In tekla it gives dynamic in this issue.

As a structural engineer/designer, you are able, starting with Steel Connections for Revit 2017, to design structural steel connections and work more collaboratively within a common BIM-based environment.

Also, you're able to create general arrangement drawings in Revit. The only limitation is that you are not able to create labels on the parts of a connection.

For detailing part of the workflow, there are the steel detailing softwares.

Hi @catalin_lang,

It is high time for Autodesk to think to bring the automatic shop drawing production ability into Revit. Since Tekla can produce both concrete and steel shop drawing from one model without exporting to here and there as in the case of Revit. Since you are an Autodesk employee you may know very well about the limitations of Revit - Advance Steel export workflow. if no pls try to upload a file with concrete round column with steel structure; the result will be very funnySmiley Wink Autodesk is creating a lot of hype about the connected BIM workflow nowadays. But once it reaches to the steel detailing they are forgetting their own mantras and policies. To be honest I tried Advance steel; and the AutoCAD based workflow and poor visual graphics in advanced steel could not get digested since I am a Revit Fan. The 3d modeling in Advanced steel is very difficult because of poor graphics since a lot of unwanted points will be there once you try to snapSmiley Mad.

There's something to be said for having the right tool for the job rather than a soup-to-nuts(n-bolts) solution.  While it may be nice to do *everything* in one massive program, it doesn't benefit everyone.  Many only do the structural design and pass it on to others; they only do detailing and have no requirements for all the design tools in Revit (and work with DWG files).  Then there's the budget implications (hours and resources, not just monetary): there's only so much that can be done on deadline for each release.  That means inevitably one part is not going to get any work done... stairs or details?  civil grading or rendering?  And so on.

Hi @dgorsman,

your point of view is correct. But I don't think that Autodesk has the same point of view. if they have; then they will never combine Arch,MEP and structure into one programSmiley Wink
