Bending schedule, A dimensions

Hi,

When I create a bending schedule I can insert three fields for A. they all refer to the same dimensions. Is there a way to show only one field for A with all the dimensions?

PS. this also applies to B, C, ....

Hello @Anonymous,

This is probably due to the fact that rebar shape families with different shared parameters for A, B, C are loaded into your project.

Are you using your own collection of shapes? Have you added parameters to the shapes that are based on a different txt file (shared parameter definition)?

As a workaround, you can:

1) Open the rebar shape family
2) Go to type properties and erase all parameters A, B,..., R under the Dimensions group
3) Add new parameters A, B, ..,R from the shared parameters file Rebar Shapes.txt corresponding to imperial shapes.
4) Associate the dimension on the shape with a parameter (with param B as it was before)
5) Save and close the family
6) Insert the modified
7) Check that the rebar schedule does not have duplicate parameters A, B, C...

The steps above would also involve identifying which shapes use the "correct" ones (the ones you should keep).

Shared params for metric shapes are defined in \Metric\Library\Structural Rebar Shapes\M_Rebar Shapes.txt for example.

Thanks Ovidiu Paunescu,

This workaround works well!

Hi @ovidiu_paunescu,

This problem is mainly due to the fact that the inbuilt Revit Rebar and the rebar created by the Revit Extension are using their own version of Shared parameter. so if you create a rebar using the extension then there will be A A , B B so on...Smiley Sad

Hope Autodesk will fix this issue. due to this reason we can not utilize the Extension into its full capacity. So IMHO if you could post a screen cast of your workaround it would be highly appreciate.
