Beam System Tag Span Direction

Hi all,

The issue im having here is we have beams on a Beam System spanning East-West (left-right). However, when I go to tag the Beam System, the Span indicator shows the span spanning in the North-South direction rather than the East-West direction as you'll see from the attached screenshot. Is there a way to rotate this tag to show the correct span direction or is this another one of those general Revit issues..? We do have a custom span tag family w/ text I could use worst case, but would prefer to keep as much "smart" labels as possible.

Thanks for any help,

Damon

What you're seeing is the extent of the beam system not the span direction.  This was wrong for us also so we made changes.  You can rotate the label, make the linework invisible (don't delete it as it is still need to determine extent) and then add your own (rotated) linework, arrowheads, etc.

Here's what it looks like in the Family Editor:

Hi All,

I used a similar approach to modify my tag. Does somebody know if I can actually follow beam system boundaries with my tag?
