Beam Splice Connection Symbol

I would like to add a typical splice symbol to my plan (beam to beam) - but the only connections symbols available in the Properties Browser are moment connections.  Does anyone have a method to add the splice connection symbol?  I can get the splice connection to show in 3D - but can't find a way to have the splice symbol shown in plan view.

I attached a screenshot for better understanding.  I highlighted the area where it allows me to add a 'moment connection' symbol, but how do I get a splice symbol to show?

Thank you!

Hi @Anonymous ,

You have to create a connection symbol family as per your requirements.

Then follow the instruction in the below pic.

Thanks for the reply.  I'll give that a try.

I find this to be extremely crazy that Revit doesn't have pre-loaded splice connection symbols.  Probably the most common steel connection ever.

Does anyone happen to have a splice symbol family created that I could use?

Thanks

@shefypattambi  How do you get to the screen where you create your own connection symbols? Or how do you find existing connection symbols to edit? I can't find the scree you showed. I can create a generic family, but I don't think that's what you did.
