Beam family question

I started with the Wide Flange RFA that comes with Revit 2014 and then added the parameters for the spray on fire proofing. When I load it into my project it works.  The issue is that the top of the steel beam drops down the thickness of the fire proofing.  I want the beam to remain in the same location and the fire proofing to extend up and around the beam. Not sure how to get this to work correctly without using Z offset each time.  Thanks for any help with this.

Because of they way these families are coded, this will always be the behavior. So what we do is make two fireproofing extrusions, one for the top, one for the rest of the beam. If the beam is supporting a floor, the top fireproofing gets turned off (the contractor wont install fireproofing in this instance anyways) and the top of steel is correct. Otherwise using the Z offset is all you can do.

That makes perfect sense. Thank you!

Any chance you could upload the file after you have the top removed?
