Area reinforcement host.

I think it would be a great idea to be able to select an existing floor or wall to be the host of area reinforcement.  I don't understand why the area reinforcement has to have a separate boundary.  I already created the boundary when I created the floor or wall element.  If the floor or wall changes shape, the area reinforcement boundary would change too.

Do others not find this idea useful, or is there a better option that I am unaware of?

Hi @JBelinski 

 

You can do that using the following steps:

  • launching the command for area reinforcement
  • selecting the host (wall or floor)
  • In the ribbon, select the major direction and draw one line (maybe along one edge)
  • Click finish

The result is an area reinforcement completely defined by the contour of the element, including openings

Here's a simple example

Thanks @ovidiu_paunescu.  I had no idea that I didn't have to recreate the boundary.  I was using the rebar line tool to sketch the outline.  I tried your description, and it worked great.  Thanks.
