I'm trying to create angled columns that look like the attached screenshot. I was only able to make them as beams due to the column restrictions in Revit, but now they wont rotate into the orientation I need them to be in. I want to perform structural analysis, otherwise I would just model in a different view. Do I have to model the components in place and associate the appropriate material properties and connections?
If so, how do I begin? Each section in the column shown will be welded. There will be 12 columns spaced 8 feet apart linearly but rotated to create a circle. Then each column is connected with angle iron at each welded joint.
Ultimately, I want to know what steel section to use for the frame to withstand wind load.
