adjust trusses fammily in architectural project

Hello, I made structural trusses families and inserted those in my project. Of many trusses I am able to adjust their height in the specific project. However, some of the trusses dont allow this....

I could not figure out why this is??

Can someone advice/help me to be able to adjust height/offset of trusses?

Hi @Anonymous ,

When you say some you cannot adjust the height on some in the project. Is this the same for all of that type or instance? Or is it a specific truss family?

If you can share the trusses so we can take a look that would be great.

One of the trusses that are not adjustable is this one:

When I insert it in a project I can not change the height/offset..

Hi @Anonymous

Sorry for the delay it has been a busy week.

I have looked at your family and the first thing I noticed was that you had only set the Truss Height parameter on one side of the truss. Which means you cannot adjust the height across the whole truss, only that side. As you can see in the below image.

TRUSS ISSUE_001.png

 If you add it to both sides like in the below image it can adjust the height along both ends. Now do I assume you need the same along the whole truss? As if you add it to both ends it does not apply the correct width along the angled part of the truss.

So you will need to add it along the centre also. Do you need to control the height between the bottom cord on the left and bottom on the right or is this set as you have defined?

The next thing I would suggest is looking at the vertical and diagonal webs. You are not controlling the setting out. So when you change the overall length of the truss they donnot adjust accordingly.

I have updated the truss to include the height to both sides as you asked.

@gareth.spencer1  Thank you very much!
I am using this structural family for the first time. I understand what you say, but do not know how I can add a second height?
What actions do I need to carry out in order to check the webs ?
