Adding gusset plate to diagonal brace problem

The clip angle connections for beam to col and beam to beam work well. Although i cant seem to get the gusset plate to hook up with the diagonal braces using the "connection" tool. Model in place is an alternate way but i would like to save time and get the connection tool to work. Anyone had this problem? Thanks to all my friends on here that have helped me so many times the past year. I love the revit program and learning more every day,CLIP CONN.PNGDIA BR.PNG

Hi Tom,

When you press on the exclamation mark, what does the warning message say?

Is it Revit 2017 or 2018, on which you are working?

There is a list with all the warning messages, in the Help Document:

http://help.autodesk.com/view/RVT/2017/ENU/?guid=GUID-A1EF6B1A-BF7F-435E-9DB3-0577F88C954B

It says "invalid connection input". Not having any issues with the clip angle connections or column splice plates. Just cant get the gusset plate to show up at the diagonal brace.

I am using FRevit 2017. I read your post with the pictoral. I went to structural steel connections families  and loaded all the gusset plates into project. Still doesen't work.

Are you using the proper steel families?

I guess you are with the columns and beams, but how about for the bracing?

You must use the steel from the AISC folder for the steel connections to work.
