Add a Gusset Plate in Diagonal Bracing Error

I have been searching far and wide to get answers on why my X-Bracing cannot produce a gusset plate using the Connection Tool. I have searched and some people just made plates using the extension tool, but I need my Gusset to show my bolts to detail in my drawing. My error that keeps coming up is "Connected element not supported - it is neither pure extrusion nor sweep. E.g. tapered, compound, welded or cellular elements are not supported."

I have attached the file. The view I am looking at is the "NORTH WALL" and "SOUTH WALL".

@SCoppula What version of Revit are you using? I ask because Gusset Plates are improved Revit 2021.

Have you ever hear about the meetups Autodesk holds once a month?

I am currently using 2020. I cannot update to 2021 just because this project was used with 2020 versions and updating would mess up my coworkers files linked to the project.

hello @SCoppula

As mentioned in this post here. The x-bracing in your model appears have a compound section or close to that idea, which steel connection does not support. Reviewing the supported structural steel shape can help find a better workaround.

A Revit Idea would help enhance the produce if the x-brace in your model is a highly sought after design.
