3D modeling is cumbersome

Revit is great at structures and walls and things that already have good families, but, wow, I have a hard time modeling a mass in place. I really wish Revit had 3D modeling tools similar to AutoCAD. I miss slicing and revolving and other things.

Or am I just missing something?

I miss 'free space' when modeling and sketching 3d. To know AutoCAD 3d good is not an advantage when you start Revit. Sometimes the fastest way is to just import the solids in a generic model and do a full explode. That's how 3d AutoCAD can come in very handy anyway...

You might not have use adaptive component template, give a try it has more options then AutoCAD.

SC,
More options in what way?
Do you have some good resource papers?
Thanks in regard
Hans
