wires not connecting to devices

I have a model that was recently assigned 'design options' in the V/G properties.  Now I can not connect wires to any of my electrical devices.  Any devices that were previously connected with wires are visibly correct and I can assign them to a panel.  I have tried to attach new devices and wire them, but still no luck!  Any idea why the original wires are connected to devices but now the program will not allow me to circuit ANY devices?!

Revit MEP does not work with Design options.

you need to switch the view back to its original model (no design option selected)

at the bottom of Revit you will see Main Model display or in your case some other display name.

it should be placed back to Main Model
