Why do we need a revit model to be sent to another energy simulation programme?

Hi everyone,

I am an architect doing energy analysis through revit 2018. Why would I need to export my building to gbXML data for another energy simulation programme as suggested online?

Is revit not capable of simulating building energy performance in detail?

Bests,

Nil

I have researched this for about a week now, the best bet is to export gbxml to trane trace or another software. After reading countless of forums I found out Revit isnt accurate when it comes to heating and cooling loads.
