I can't seem to find a solution to this problem... When I type the word "FIRST" into a schedule, it almost always appears as "IRSTF" because it places the first letter at the end of the word. How has this not been resolved by now? This is really frustrating. I'd like to raise the issue so the problem gets solved. Simply recreating every schedule (what they're suggesting in the link) is not a solution. Renaming headings, regrouping them, and then reformatting  the columns is a considerable amount of work to do for every schedule on every project.

I think you may be misunderstanding. The issue does not have anything to do with elements not showing in the schedule, but the process of entering information. Some parameters/columns will move the cursor to the front of the text after typing the first letter/number. Please see the gif as an example.
