Visibility icons when selecting an object

They are not visible.

I don't think these informational icons during selection can be turned off but does it matter?

The problem is they are not visible on a different workstation.

Sorry I misunderstood, I thought you were trying to turn them off but what you are actually asking is can they be turned on at the other workstation.

Are you testing this behaviour with the same element on each workstation?

The behaviour will depend upon the hosting type of the element.

The flip workplane icon will only appear for elements which are hosted to a building element, face or workplane. It won't display for non-hosted elements.

The other icon displays workset status (editable/non-editable)and will only appear in workshared models.

The temporary dimension display is, I think, fairly arbitrary depending on which other reference elements are nearby.

I have not tested with the same element on another workstation. We just thought a long thin slant line was always shown when selecting an object in a floor plan and then go to a 3D view to localize it's position in the model. Apparently this does not have to be the case.

Don't take my comments on the last word on the subject. Generally I have never paid much attention to the temporary dimensions because they almost never reference from an object which I want to reference from. I usually just place a dimension on plan referenced from where I want, change its value to move the object and then delete the dim.

I'm not sure how you would use the temporary dims in the way that you suggest, especially in an isolated view, because you need to know where they are referencing from and as that help page that I linked explains the reference points will change depending on which model elements have been added/moved near to the selected object.

Playing about with this, having a section box active in the 3D view seems to affect the display of temporary dims.

Also whether the architecture is in a linked model or in the same model seems to affect behaviour.
