Unable to place section view marker on a elevation

Hello,

I am at an elevation view. I'm trying to create a "sectional plan" view. I am not able to do it.

Revit is not allowing me to place a section line. What is the issue. Please see attached screen cast.

Place a vertical section then rotate it to horizontal.

Why not just make a plan view?

Good question.. you are right... but sometimes we need to cut at arbitrary plane, without having to create levels. 

It is a choice of preference by designers.
