Unable to find/add Unique ID for linked door

I'm currently working in an electrical model with an architect model linked in. I'm trying to be able to associate doors by something unique.. say their unique identifier but it is not being transferred over from the architect model. I've looked into binding but I've been unable to bind just certain elements i.e. doors so it doesn't make my file too big and eat up performance. Is there a way to bind just the Unique ID to the doors or does anyone know the functionality of the "tag all" by category and how its able to tag all of the linked doors so I can tag the doors using Dynamo, thanks!

Hello,

Usually, architects use the Mark parameter to create such information.

You can try to tag using a tag that displays this parameter.

Another suggestion is to display the tagged architecture view in your plan view.

Thank you for your quick reply but it doesn't really solve my issue. I'm aware that the Mark parameter is commonly used as the "label parameter" which is what is transferred over to the linked model and allows you to tag it correctly. The issue is that I'm trying to create my own tag, independent of the archs tag because I'm trying to add other parameters i.e. Hardware so it makes it easier to identify who needs electrical equipment. By linking in their view it makes our model dependent on their tags and they don't want to have all of the clutter. Basically I have been unable to identify linked doors in the current MEP model that would allow me to tag them. I thought I could use their unique identifier but it is not transferred over.

In an appropriate BIM process, the ideal would be that the architect include in their doors the information you need if it is very important for project purposes, but it will demand some agreement.

I have to agree with Fabio here, having good agreements in your initial contract discussions will help in the future, at least to have a mutual agreement on needed parameters will make life easier for you.

The more I've immersed myself in this environment the more I've realized I can't do everything on my own file, or on my own for that matter and that coordination will be required. ...for now. I'm hoping as the REST API evolves I'll be able to utilize it to be able to do things the UI can't, such as tag all doors that meet certain criteria in my linked model. I'll have to work with the other departments moving forward on how to utilize Shared Parameters correctly and setting standards to make automation easier for the future. Thanks for the advice guys!
