Toggle to lock alignment at 90°

Many times when dealing with families, it is necessary to create an angle dimension and then lock it at 90°.  Similar to the lock for alignment, it seems it would be invaluable to all who deal with families to have the ability to click a little "lock at 90°" toggle.

Make it a tiny little icon nested near the intersection of the two elements.  When toggle is on, it looks like a 3:4:5 triangle.  When toggle is off, it looks like an obtuse angle.

Drafting is a breeze and Revit doesn't always work the way you think it should.

Hi Sorry i might be missing the point here, but if you assign that angle to a parameter, doesn't the lock function within the parameter properties do what you are trying to do? Or better still, type the value 90 into the formula so its always 90?

I was thinking expediency as well as cleanliness/clutter in the views.

My proposed idea would be 1 step.  The way I have been doing it is 2 steps (Place dimension, toggle lock).  If I'm understanding you right, wouldn't your method be 3-4 steps (Place dimension, create parameter, [assign formula], lock in family types/parameter properties)?

In the views, it would keep things cleaner and not create a littering of the family with 90° angle [and parameter value] text all over.

I see, you're proposing a more efficient way rather than asking for a functionality to lock a parameter. The idea's page is the place for that as i believe you have already done so. Fingers crossed.
