Time to Install Revit and its Updates

Can someone tell me what the expected time is to install Revit or any of its updates?

We are finding the update files in the GB size and time to install are in the hour range. 

It's a slow painful process.

Is there anything IT might be able to set or control to make it use more resources during install?

My CPU is barely in use and I would prefer for the process to take all it can to get it done faster.

Computers are all newer with plenty of space, RAM, etc (nothing old and dusty)

Any insight would be appreciated.

Hello,

Are you using SSD drives on "c:/"?

NVme drives are faster.

I'm curious what computers you use that Revit installation or update takes an hour. 

I use Revit on a computer totally insufficient, even that only takes minutes. I never timed it, but not more than 10 minutes for sure.  On a good PC, this might be a 5 minute complete installation or less. 

and the computer is usable for other tasks while installing. 

What takes more time is updating the projects inc. links.

Maybe you have anti-virus scanning during the installation process.
