Sprinkler Heads above ceiling showing in RCP

I am trying not to show Sprinkler heads that are above ceiling in a cloud ceiling area on an RCP (in Architecture Discipline) but cant seem to figure out a way. View ranges won't work because we have exposed sprinklers that are on the same elevation and there is a lot of ceilings for me to place plan regions.

I can use filters but that would mean creating two separate types heads for exposed and above ceiling sprinkler. Does anyone know a better way to do this? any help would be much appreciated.

Have you tried setting hidden lines to None, and make sure the view is not wireframe?

Yes. its set to "none" (discipline - Architecture) and visual style is hidden lines. no ceiling transparency etc.

I think its because of the sprinkler annotations and since revit will show annotations regardless of the position in space they show up. I just have to either show the actual sprinkler geometry in that view or show the symbols as model lines... attached is the family.

Did you model it upside down on purpose?

I inherited it but yes this is on purpose since its an upright.

It seems if you need different types and use filters, to keep the annotation symbol

Select all of the sprinklers which are above the ceiling, apply a value to an instance parameter, either one of the built in ones like Comments or one of your own, use that in a view filter. Or if its easier, do it the other way around and select all of the uprights which are not in the ceiling void and use the same method.

Hello,

I would create a View filter for your RCP.
Create a yes/no parameter and connect it to the sprinklers, pipes and
pipefittings.
Dit example "above ceiling".
Then create a section, select everything above the ceiling range and check
the parameter.
Make a filter that makers all the objects invisable tha have the paramer
checken.
