Hi all,

I was wondering whether anyone knows whether it's possible to split (split element) flexi-duct in Revit 2020?

Many thanks in Advance.

Why don't you try it for yourself?

Ok, fair point, I didn't word the question correctly.

I have tried split element and split with space but neither seem to work on flexi duct. Are you aware of another method which would split one piece of flexi duct into two pieces?

Regards

No.

My turn for questions.

Why would you want to do this?

Why not copy or just create an additional piece?

Question asked and answered. There is no shame in my response. Why do you say that?

What a shame. I can think of several other ways to accomplish the same result.

I’m thinking that in the real world it would be rare to split a flexi-duct because generally the whole point of flex is to run from one connection to the other without jointing.

If you did need two lengths of flex on site then you’d need a short piece of rigid duct in between in order to join them together.

So that’s how I would probably model it. Place a piece of rigid duct at your split point and add two pieces of flex. Could be modelled in seconds.
Hope this helps.

Another scenario could be a volume damper at the split point possibly strategically placed for a bit of support.

Or maybe just a ploy to get around the max flex duct length?

And yet another post without providing additional information as requested. Maybe your problem is that you can't follow directions.

I'm here to solve real problems. When I see something that doesn't make sense I ask questions. When you are here asking questions and don't answer the ones asked of you, it's rude. Now tell me. Are you being nice?

Please refrain from sending me insulting private messages RobDraw, that's not very nice and quite rude.

That was far from insulting. What's insulting is your attitude towards someone who is only trying to help.

This was rude, curt and I don't appreciate it. You could have replied much more courteously.

I think you should look at your own posts before trying to read between the lines of other's. I'm here to help. What you asked for wasn't possible. I was trying to find out what you were really trying to accomplish. You dismissed my questions which is quite rude. What goes around comes around. You can't treat people like that and then try to take the higher ground. Now how about you unsubscribe and stop responding like you said you would?
