split duct in sections

How do I split a duct in sections? whne i draw it it always ends up with a duct section as long as the straight run is, or when a fitting shows up.

I try to include liner 3', and the continue without liner in the same duct size. But short of changing duct type it always connects the duct to one section.

I googled and there are soem commercial tools splitting duct, but I hope there is a Revit built-in solution

The Split Element tool should work. I was able to add lining to just one section of duct after I split it.

that works, thanks. I think I was looking for a duct-specific tools that i ignored the standard tools.

A union at the split section will keep revit from auto connecting the duct line into one long section.
