Spaces from Rooms in the same model

Our company works in models with the Architects and MEP Engineers.

we have Rooms in a model and we would like to create Spaces matching the Rooms.

I am not seeing a good way to do this and everything I find about this is for linked models.

Is there a good way to create Spaces based on Rooms in the same model in Revit or with an add-in?

I don't think you can directly duplicate Rooms as Spaces. Maybe as you say there might be an add-on that does it, or maybe it can be done using Dynamo.

You should however be able to quickly populate Spaces using the automatic placement tool

and it will recognise the same room bounding elements as the Rooms.

You can then run the Space Naming tool to copy names from Rooms to Spaces.

Depending on what you are going to use the Spaces for though you might not want to have Spaces occupying the same volumes as Rooms - for analysis purposes you might want to sub-divide larger/taller Rooms into several Spaces to improve analysis, also ceiling voids etc might be created as separate Spaces rather than being part of the main volume of the room, etc.
