snaps turned off but detail lines still snapping?

Hi! I've linked a video of what Revit is doing below. I'm selecting lines and it's automatically extending them... not sure why. I turned all snaps off and I've never seen this before. usually, only the line selected is created but as you can see, where the blue dots are, Revit creates a line. this is really really problematic for me and I would appreciate any help. thank you!!

That video tells us very little. It actually looks like it is working as expected. You also are not just selecting a line. You are using the pick lines tool to create new lines.

First off, with the yellow on a white background is very hard to see what you are trying to show us. Try something with more contrast.

If you notice, before you make the selection, the preview highlight indicates that the line does actually go the entire length of the result.

Also remember that Revit has little tolerance for small gaps. It wants to fill them. Most of the time, this is a real timesaver. Sometimes, it's not desirable. I don't know of a way to turn this off and I personally wouldn't want to have it disabled. I don't think this is what is happening in your video though.

Drafting is a breeze and Revit doesn't always work the way you think it should.
