Sections can see entire imported cad file

Im importing a lighting .dwg into my revit model. Why is it when i draw a section with a far clip offset of 2ft that I  can see every light fixture in the section that is in the .dwg. Is there a way where i can only see the lights that are within the section depth?

I don't think DWGs respect section clipping.

I believe you can make a generic model family containing the DWG and place that.

You could also load your AutoCAD file into Navisworks and save it as an .NWD and then load that as a coordination model. 

It involves some extra steps, but as far as I know coordination models can be sectioned.
