section lines per level

Electrical BIM coordinator and I have a 14 story hotel where the electric rooms stack on top of each other on every floor. I Draw a section line on level 1, go that that section and crop it down so its just below level 1 and top is below level 2 slab. for some reason i can see this section on level 2 and 3. How do i get my section view to solely show my room on level 1. I would like to be able to have individidual sections for each floor in order to put on a sheet.

It looks exactly like that. Another annoying thing is when i first make the section and then go to it, its 100ft tall or whatever the height of the building is. Basically goes from the basement to the roof, and then some and i have to crop it down the the area i want.

interesting... the only way I was able to duplicate what you explained was to have when I had the bottom level set to level below or Unlimited.

as for the cropping..... Ya, id like a better way to do that too. only tool I know of to set in a section is the Far Clip Offset. not aware of anything to control the Height of the section. could you use an elevation instead of a section? when combined with a scope box, it should restrict it.

You need to adjust your view range.  Also, are you using an underlay in any of your views?

See attached snap shots. Range is as it should be, underlays set to none. I create a small section to capture the 2 panels. Go to the section and i get floors 2 thru 6. I should not i made this section on level 4. Capture.JPGCapture1.JPGCapture3.JPG

Your section captures from below the second floor all the way to above the sixth floor, of course it will show on the fourth floor plan. What am I missing?

Im looking to put my level 4 section onto a sheet which will give that section annotations of the sheet and detail #.  Im looking to do this for every level. If i have a section on level 4 that should be of level 4 electric room thats is detail 1 on page 201 then i should see that same section and detail on level 2. Does that make sense? i can crop this detail down but it will still show on levels 3 and 5.

What you need to do is crop the section to be within level 4 only, then on level 2 where you want to show the same section, add another section but pick Reference Other view before you actually draw the line, and choose the section view you drew in level 4.
