Revit Sync Issue with Union type families

We have a bug that comes up with some situations. We sync files and get an error saying to disconnect the route with specific families. When I dove into this I tried a few things and noticed that switching the Conduit Fitting family from a Union to a Jbox elbow, or a Union to a Cap in some cases resolved the issue. One of the families I made was a C Body Conduit body. Ithas 2 connection points. When I reviewed the OOTB versions they were "Unions" so I went with that on my library. A user switched from one of the families to another and reconnected the route. when they went to sync he got the disconnect error. I then  changed it to the J box elbow and reloaded the family then the error went away. My question is the error related to the family itself or a result of a change that happened to the route prior to a sync? I am curious if others have seen this error and how it was resolved.

Hello,

The part type setting is critical to define how the conduits are expected to connect to them. It is better never to change this setting if the fitting is in a network of conduits.

To be clear, I don't want to change the part type. It was necessary to change it to correct the bug with syncing. I wanted the family to remain as I made it. There is a bug in revit with the "Union". I just uncovered the issue.

For Example:

1) Family A -Conduit C Body "Union Type" 8" long

2) replaced with Family B -Conduit C Body "Union Type" 12" long. (Reconnected)

3) **Sync Error** Asked to disconnect failed sync

4) edited Family B - Conduit C Body to " J Box Elbow" reloaded into project  (as a test)

5) No issue with Sync

Uncovered issue was with "Union Type" in connected route

Hello,

If you can, create a support issue so technical staff can check the problem and report more detail to the development team.
